Open an account within the mobile app
- Log in to the mobile app.
- Tap 'More' at the bottom of the screen.
- Select 'Apply & Open'.
- Choose the type of account you'd like to open.
- Fill in your account details.
- Tap 'Open Free Up' if you're opening a Free Up account, or tap 'Continue' if you're opening a savings account like an Online Call.
- Select 'Open new account'.
- Tap 'Ok'.

Open an account within internet banking
- Log in to internet banking.
- Click 'Apply & Open' at the top of the screen.
- Choose the type of account you'd like to open.
- To open a Free Up account, fill in your account details and click 'Next'.
- To open a savings account like an Online Call, click 'Next' then 'Begin the application process' and fill in your details.
- Click 'Open' to confirm.

If you prefer to bank in person, you can give us a call or visit your nearest Kiwibank.

Verify who you are
Once you've completed the online form, we'll need to verify who you are. There are two ways you can do this:
- Using ID checker on your smartphone.
- Visiting your nearest Kiwibank or Local for Kiwibank. You'll need to bring your ID and proof of address with you.

You’ll be able to open other accounts in the mobile app or internet banking once you’ve verified your identity.
