We've partnered with sustainability fintech Cogo to enable business customers with Xero accounting software to easily measure and understand their business' carbon footprint through the Cogo Business Carbon Manager app. This is business banking for better.

How it works

    If you're a Kiwibank business customer, sign up to the Cogo Business Carbon Manager app by connecting your Xero account.

    Your Cogo account will be generated using your Xero transactional data, based on information such as how much your business spends on electricity and fuel.

    Categorise

    Once you're in the app, you can categorise your top suppliers based on your spend. For example, your spend at a petrol station will need to be assigned to a category such as 'company vehicles' so the Cogo app knows that this transaction was made because you refuelled your company fleet.

    Measure

    The Business Carbon Manager app uses categories attached to your transactions to measure your business’ carbon footprint. It does this by assigning an emissions factor (based on the amount of carbon emissions) to each dollar spent.

    Reduce

    After your carbon footprint has been calculated, you’ll receive personalised suggestions and guidance on how your business could improve efficiency and reduce emissions.

Once you've connected the Cogo Business Carbon Manager app to your Xero account, you can log back into the app using your Xero account details at anytime to see your updated carbon footprint.
