How it works

  • Processing times

    Funds appear in the bank account of the person you’re paying within 60 minutes (usually less) from the time funds come out of your bank account. Normally, when you make a payment to another bank, the bank you're sending to may only process incoming payments every few hours or overnight. This service is only available on business days.

  • Fees

    A $25 fee applies when you make a same-day cleared payment.

  • Email notification

    You can ask the receiving bank to send an email to the payee to let them know when the funds have been credited to their account, so they know the money has arrived and can be used.

  • Fill out a form

    If you'd like to make a same-day cleared payment, fill out this form and get in touch with our business banking team. The request needs to be received by 4pm on a business day.

  • Urgent payments between Kiwibank accounts

    If you want to urgently pay funds from one Kiwibank account to another, we recommend that you use a one-off payment via internet banking instead, as these transfers happen instantly.
