We'll set you up with a merchant facility and link your EFTPOS terminal at the same time so you can start accepting payments straight away.

EFTPOS is a real-time debit and credit card authorisation payment processing system that gives you immediate payment authorisation.

If you choose an EFTPOS New Zealand terminal, specialists will install your terminal and you’ll receive dedicated 24-hour support from their highly trained service team.

You’ll be able to accept EFTPOS card payments and Visa and Mastercard® payments. Merchant service fees apply.

Our terminal solutions are provided by EFTPOS New Zealand, but if you’d prefer to use someone else you can buy or lease your terminals through any supplier of your choice. See the EFTPOS New Zealand terminal range.

We’ll work with you to make sure you have the right terminal and payment solutions for your business, with flexible options, like the ability to add tipping or surcharges, accept contactless payments, or take payments over the phone.

You can also arrange to set up American Express and Diners Club by contacting them directly. To accept these services, you’ll need to set up a merchant facility directly with these schemes.

You'll be able to accept in-person UnionPay card payments through your EFTPOS terminal provided it's been set up to support these payments. Merchant service fees apply.

You need to be a New Zealand resident or your company needs to be registered in New Zealand and you also have to be a Kiwibank Business Banking customer. A credit check will be carried out as part of your application.
